O2 to slash the price of the Apple iPhone by £100
Tuesday 15 Apr 2008
New has leaked that O2 are set to announce a price reduction of the Apple iPhone.

The iPhone currently costs £269 but there is an expected announcement tomorrow that O2 are to cut the cost of the handset by £100, reducing the cost of the phone to £169 which is a significant drop in the price. This reduction follows T-Mobile's decision to cut the cost of the iPhone from £315 to £78 in Germany.

Reports suggest that supplies of the iPhone are running low in the US, France and the United Kingdom but are not being replenished which has led to speculation that the release of the 3G version is imminent.

This is a much appreciated further saving to the customers following the tariff changes made by O2 in February which saw them increase their £35 per month tariff from 200 minutes and 200 texts to 600 minutes and 500 texts.

It`s about time they cut the cost of the iPhone. I always though it was to steep and it seems O2 have now realised this.

I suspect it`s more to do with the arrival of the 3G version of the iPhone than O2 doing us any favours.
