Tuesday 13 May 2008

Blackberry has added to its growing family of Smartphone’s with the addition of the Blackberry Bold. However, there is a difference in this latest release is their first handset to support HSDPA networks across the globe. The look and feel of the ‘Bold’ is a step up for Blackberry with a satin chrome casing, leather backplate and new user interface.
Another step forward for the Blackberry Bold comes with their sharpest screen resolution to date enabling viewing images and documents a whole lot better. Speaking of documents, the ‘Bold’ comes with pre-loaded DataViz Documents to Go suite so users can download Microsoft Word, Excell and Powerpoint files and edit them directly on their mobile. Storing your files isn’t an issue as the phone has a 1GB internal memory.
The Blackberry Bold isn’t lacking when it comes to entertaining features either. Firstly, there is a 2 megapixel camera which has a built-in flash, 5x digital zoom and video recording capability. Secondly, there is built-in MP3 player to manage all your music and a Blackberry Media Sync application so you can sync your iTunes digital music with the phone. Other management software includes Roxio Media Manager and Roxio Photosuite.
As with most of the
Blackberry Mobile Phone’s there is also push email and a QWERTY keypad that comes with integrated GPS and Wi-Fi.
It’s expected that The Blackberry Bold will be available in the UK by the start of the summer.
RIM president and co-chief executive Mike Lazaridis said: “The new BlackBerry Bold represents a tremendous step forward in business-grade smartphones and lives up to its name with incredible speed, power and functionality, all wrapped in a beautiful and confident design”
