Sony Ericsson Clean Up at What Mobile Awards 2008
Monday 27 Oct 2008

The What Mobile Awards 2008 were held in East London last week at the exclusive members club and celebrity haunt, Shoreditch House. The awards consisted of an informal evening of stand-up comedy and entertainment.
The event was hosted by comic Micky Flanagan for 160 industry guests who partied the night away until the early hours of the morning.
Sony Ericsson took top honours of the evening by winning both the Best Manufacturer and Best Music Phone
(W890i) awards.
Other awards included Best network for
Vodafone and the Apple iPhone 3G took the desired Mobile Phone of the Year award.
The What Mobile Awards is now in its fourth year and holds particular prestige for the winners as the awards are voted for by the consumers. Consumers voted for the various awards through the What Mobile magazine and online.
What Mobile editor Jonathan Morris said: “Our awards have continued to grow year on year, thanks to the increasing support from readers and online users that appreciate being able to give their own opinion on the products and services they use.
“Consequently, the industry now realises how important winning an award of this nature is, compared to the traditional judging system or a choice made by a single person.”
