Introducing the Nokia 6300
Nokia has gone back to basics here to ensure that the 6300 includes everything that Nokia does best. This candybar phone has all the standard technology youd expect to find in a modern phone but without any of the unnecessary frills. A typical Nokia design with a straightforward menu, this is a refreshingly traditional product.
Design
Solid! Its a modern looking phone built around all the straightforward characteristics of what make Nokia handsets great, making it easy to use and sturdy. Predictably laid out with a large keypad to maximise usability, its managed to do this whilst staying slim at only 12mm deep. The outstandingly large 30mm by 40mm screen offers an excellent colour range and a sharp picture. But just to show its not boring the Nokia 6300 features blue lights on either side which glow to alert you to an incoming text message.
Camera
The 2-megapixel camera allows you to shoot still photos and videos, and comes with some useful features. The timer will allow you to delay the capture of an image, giving you enough time to get in on the action as well, whist the night mode is set up specifically to enable you to capture photos even in low lighting conditions.
Connectivity & Applications
It comes with a whole wealth of connectivity options and applications from Bluetooth to GPRS/EDGE, and email to MMS message. The Nokia 6300 works harmoniously with Nokias own web browser or the Opera Mini Web browser that comes pre-installed. It also gives you Nokia PC Suite and a feature which gives you control over PowerPoint with a Bluetooth presenter. FOTA (firmware upgrade over the air) support lets you upgrade the 6300s firmware wirelessly and SyncML lets you synchronise the phone with your PC so that you can update your contacts and calendar, among other things. If you dont fancy using the wireless option though it has been upgraded so that you no longer have to use the proprietary Nokia cable because it now comes with a mini-USB port.
Entertainment
The MP3 player is compatible with a large variety of music file formates and the 6300 works with Micro SD cards, which allow you to store up to about 480 songs for your entertainment and listening pleasure, but you can choose to listen to the FM radio instead if you want to. Whatever you choose to listen to you can do so wirelessly with the stereo Bluetooth headset.. Alternatively there are a range of Java games, and dont forget the hours of amusement to be had browsing the internet.
