Samsung have released a competitor to the JCB Tough Phone, the Samsung SGH-M110 or as it is better known, the Samsung Solid.  The Solid oozes durability and does what it says on the tin.  Such is the design of the Solid it is highly resistant to dust and water splashes and can even withstand a 1 metre drop onto concrete.

The Samsung Solid is so well protected thanks to the thick rubber casing which provides shock absorbing properties and seals the handset.  The Solid beats the JCB Touch Phone hands down in looks and features and is both smaller and lighter than its rival.

Whilst the phone is relatively basic it does have the necessary features required for daily tasks.  The 0.3 megapixel camera has an impressive flash that can also be used a torch at those darker moments.  Another impressive feature is the battery which can last up to 8 hours of talk time and 16 days standby time.
