Introducing the K800i

The K800i has an understated style and is small for the number of features it contains. As a specialist camera phone it provides you with everything you require for your photography needs and it offers a fantastic range of other functions to sort out everything else in your life too.

Design

Aesthetically the K800i conforms to a very respectable appearance. The layout makes it easy to use and the centrally located navigation stick and the keypad are very tactile and equally responsive. Whilst built with photography in mind, the phone also offers excellent audio and video playback quality.

Camera

The specialist camera is a desirable 3.2-megapixel and comes with autofocus to ensure that all your pictures are sharp. The lens is protected behind a cover and the screen is used as the veiwfinder. This camera comes with 16x digital zoom meaning that you can take pictures from a lot further away and still have the subject fill up your screen by cutting out the unwanted background or surrounding areas. Best of all though, the K800i comes with a real Xenon flash found on digital cameras. This will enable you to take photos in low lighting conditions without the image becoming grainy, and unlike other camera-phone flashes, it wont cause an unnatural tinge to affect the colours, this is especially useful with photos of people. One inspired feature of the K800i is BestPics, which will take a series of photos very quickly, one after the other, so that youre able to look through them and keep only the very best ones. Interestingly, it also provides you with a photoblog and will be set up for you automatically the first time you try it. In addition to all of this it also comes with functions for video calling, but the camera is hidden and so small that its difficult to see.

Entertainment & Organisation

Entertainment wise, the K800i continues to impress. Sony Ericsson have provided an excellent MP3 player and it includes an FM Radio. Because of its MP3 capabilities it affords you a lot of fun with ringtones, and if you dont like any of the ones you hear there is also a music dj which enables you to create your own. Youll find in the menu a good selection of Java games, and a range of organisational features such as a task manager and an alarm clock. In addition to this the K800i can be synchronised with your PC for quick updates and it comes with a PC suite and web browser so you can stay on top of business too.
